The short version. I collect very little. I don't sell your details. Some tools I use may set small cookies. You can email me to see, fix or delete what I hold.
Who I am
This website is run by Handy Gee Services, a sole trader based in Belper, Derbyshire. I decide how your details are used, so I'm the one responsible for them under UK data protection law.
To get in touch about any of this, email gee@geessite.xyz.
What I collect
Very little.
- What you send me. If you use the quote form, email me or message me on WhatsApp, I get what you write, such as your name, email address or phone number, and your message.
- Technical details. The company that delivers the site may log each visit, including your IP address and the page you asked for.
I don't ask for sensitive personal data or payment details through this website.
Analytics
There are no analytics on this site at the moment.
Analytics & Tracking
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics to help understand how visitors use the site and to improve performance, stability and security. These services collect anonymous technical information such as pages visited, device type, browser version and general geographic region. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics, and all data is processed in accordance with Cloudflare’s and Google’s privacy policies.
How I use your details
- To reply to your message.
- To give you a quote and do the work you ask for.
- To keep records of work I've done.
- To prevent spam and abuse.
I can do this because you've asked me to get in touch or to quote for a job, and I need your details to do that. I don't sell your data. I only pass it to the services below, which I need to run the site, the form and my messages.
Who else handles your details
- Microsoft runs the quote form (Microsoft Forms). It handles what you type into the form, and I can see your answers.
- WhatsApp (owned by Meta) handles messages you send me there, and I can see your name or number and what you write.
- Hosting and security: Cloudflare provides DNS, security and delivery of the site to you. The site's files are stored on GitHub.
- My email provider handles emails you send me.
- Paint (one of my wingITgee projects): if you open its Community view, your browser asks mastodon.social for public posts, so Mastodon can see your IP address.
Cookies and similar storage
This website doesn't set any cookies of its own.
- Light and dark mode preference saved in your browser.
- wingITgee projects save your work locally in your browser.
- Microsoft Forms may set cookies when the form loads.
- Cloudflare may set a small security cookie to help tell real visitors from bots.
I don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Site Updates
This website is updated periodically to improve performance, security and content. Major changes may be listed here to help users understand what has been updated.
How long I keep your details
I keep messages and form answers for 12 months after we last got in touch, then delete them.
Records of work I've done, such as invoices, I keep for at least five years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline for that tax year, which is what HMRC requires of sole traders.
Server logs are kept by the hosting company under its own policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can:
- ask for a copy of the details I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that's wrong
- ask me to delete your details (I may have to keep some records for tax)
- ask me to limit how I use your details
- object to how I use your details
- ask for your details in a format you can move elsewhere
- withdraw your consent, where I'm relying on it
To use any of these, email me. I'll reply within one month.
Changes to this page
If I change how I use your details, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
